This segment from Vilaflor to El Retamar is the last stage of the most popular climb to El Teide coming from the south of the island on the TF-21. It has an average gradient of 7% and it is 12km long. Being the last stage up the mountain you will definitely feel the pain to the already tired legs. Some sections are challenging but once you reach the summit, you will definitely be rewarded with some spectacular views but most importantly, deep inside you will have a sense of joy, knowing that you have conquered El Teide.
