Dark evenings and wet roads can make it harder to keep cycling regularly. Zwift Tour of Watopia 2026 offers a little extra motivation, with routes to explore, other riders for company and double XP to help you progress through the game.
Whether you already use Zwift or are considering your first indoor setup, the Tour gives you a manageable goal for the weeks ahead. You can join scheduled group rides or complete the cycling routes when it suits you.
The Tour started on 5 October, with five weekly stages followed by a catch-up week. Zwift’s latest event announcement confirms it finishes at 6am UK time on 16 November 2026.
The remaining stage changes are:
Stage 3: opens 19 October.
Stage 4: opens 26 October.
Stage 5: opens 2 November.
Make-up week: starts 9 November.
Once a stage opens, its cycling routes remain available on demand during the Tour, so joining late does not mean missing out. Double XP applies to eligible Tour rides, races and unlocked on-demand routes, including repeat rides.
Zwift says riders are automatically registered. Update the app, connect your equipment and look for the Tour of Watopia challenge card on the home screen.
For a scheduled ride, choose a suitable event through Zwift or the Companion app and join before it starts. Alternatively, select an unlocked Tour route on demand and ride at your own pace.
Check your progress afterwards using the challenge card or Companion app. Completing all 15 cycling routes is an optional Ultimate Challenge, so there is plenty to work towards if you want a bigger autumn project.
For a straightforward indoor setup, you will need:
A compatible smart turbo trainer and bicycle, or a supported smart bike setup.
A device that can run Zwift, such as a compatible computer, tablet or Apple TV.
An internet connection and access to Zwift through a subscription or eligible trial.
A fan, water bottle and towel to make indoor riding more comfortable.
A smart trainer measures your effort and adjusts resistance as the virtual road changes. Before buying, check compatibility with your bicycle, device and preferred connection method.

Start with the shorter options and compare climbing as well as distance. A relatively short route with a steep climb can feel tougher than a longer, flatter ride.
Two particularly approachable choices are:
| Route | Stage | Approximate distance | Climbing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beach Island Loop | 1 | 13.3km | 44m |
| Tick Tock | 2 | 19.1km | 59m |
Beach Island Loop is a sensible first target if you are getting used to indoor cycling. Tick Tock offers a longer ride with relatively little climbing, making it useful for steady efforts.
For scheduled Tour group rides, Group C is the shorter route option. These group letters describe the ride options, so check the event description rather than assuming they work like race categories. Distances can also include additional lead-in riding, so allow a little extra time.
Zwift’s expansion is scheduled to open on 26 October, adding approximately 18km of roads inspired by California’s coast and Catalina Island.
The expansion connects Jarvis with the Jungle and includes a flatter alternative around the Epic KOM, plus two circuits designed for racing. It gives regular Zwifters somewhere fresh to explore as indoor training becomes a bigger part of the weekly routine.
Treat the Tour as a reason to ride consistently, with the intensity chosen to suit your goals.
For someone returning to indoor cycling, one Tour route and one shorter, comfortable spin each week could provide a manageable starting routine. More experienced riders can use longer routes for endurance sessions or choose a race when they want a harder effort.
Avoid chasing every group that passes. Riding on demand is particularly useful when you want to control the pace, fit a session around work or finish without feeling exhausted.
There are also advertised hardware promotions worth comparing if you need an indoor setup.
| Product and offer | Advertised UK price |
|---|---|
| Zwift Ride V2 with KICKR CORE 2, seasonal 10% promotion | £989.99 |
| Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 with Zwift Cog & Click, seasonal 10% promotion | £449.99 |
| Zwift Ride V2 with KICKR CORE 2, ROUVY Edition, ROUVY FEST | £899 |
The seasonal Zwift promotion is advertised as running until 31 March 2027, subject to conditions. It cannot be combined with other promotions and may be paused during larger seasonal sales. Use the qualifying promotional link or code, as the standard shop price may differ.
The shorter ROUVY FEST offer is advertised until 18 October 2026, while stocks last. At £899, the complete package is £90.99 cheaper than the £989.99 seasonal Zwift offer. The ROUVY Edition uses the standard Zwift Ride hardware with an additional personalised sticker set.
That makes it worth comparing the final basket totals, delivery charges and any subscription inclusions before ordering. Buying hardware through ROUVY does not itself provide access to Zwift’s Tour, so check your Zwift membership separately.
