ROUVY Great World Adventure 2026: Ride Morocco, India and Patagonia This Winter

British winter riding often means checking the forecast and hoping for a dry spell. ROUVY Great World Adventure 2026 offers another reason to get on the bike, bringing Morocco, India and Patagonia to your indoor training setup.

Running from 12 October 2026 to 3 January 2027, the challenge features 11 stages across 12 weeks. Shorter route sections make the main adventure accessible without demanding strong climbing legs.

What Is ROUVY Great World Adventure?

ROUVY combines filmed roads with your riding effort, giving indoor sessions a sense of travel. For cyclists who struggle to get excited about another evening on the turbo, exploring somewhere unfamiliar can provide a useful change of focus.

Rather than chasing a personal best every session, you can make completing the next stage your goal. That gives winter riding some structure while leaving room for outdoor rides whenever the weather improves.

Dates and Stage Schedule

The adventure moves through three destination blocks:

Destination launch events fall on 13 October, 10 November and 8 December. Patagonia includes an extra week for catching up over Christmas. Check the challenge tile for individual stage availability.

How Do You Join?

1. Sign in to ROUVY.

2. Open Challenges, find Great World Adventure and select Join challenge before riding.

3. Complete each available stage route to the finish.

4. Check your progress in the challenge tile.

You can join late and catch up on unlocked stages before 3 January. ROUVY recommends tackling missed stages in release order. Partial rides do not count.

Before starting, allow time for pairing your equipment and a short test ride. Sorting out connections beforehand makes it easier to settle into the actual session.

What Equipment Do You Need?

A straightforward setup is a compatible smart trainer, your bicycle and a supported device running ROUVY. Both direct-drive and wheel-on smart trainers are supported, depending on the model. Check ROUVY’s compatibility information before buying.

You will also want a stable internet connection, a fan, a towel and a drink within reach. Position your screen where you can see it comfortably without constantly lifting or twisting your head.

Can You Use a Conventional Smart Trainer?

Yes. You can use your existing bicycle on a supported smart trainer. A normal cassette and your bike’s mechanical gears provide a familiar way to control your effort.

Virtual shifting is an additional option on supported trainers, so you do not need to replace a working cassette setup simply to take part.

Can You Use Zwift Ride With ROUVY?

Yes, Zwift Ride works with ROUVY when paired with a compatible smart trainer. The Zwift Ride with Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 is listed among ROUVY’s supported setups.

For setup, update the app and hardware firmware, connect the trainer, then pair the Zwift Ride controls as a remote. Both handlebar controllers should be awake when pairing.

Virtual shifting requires Bluetooth or a supported Wi-Fi connection to the trainer. It does not work over ANT+. Check that shifting responds during a short ride before starting your first stage.

Which Routes Are Suitable for Beginners?

Start with the shorter main stages. Optional easy route challenges include Morocco’s Desert gateway, featuring Aït Benhaddou, Alnif and Col du Ouano–Tilmi, and India’s First light, featuring Jispa, Indus Valley and Pangong Lake. Patagonia’s optional challenges start at medium difficulty.

Look at distance and elevation together before choosing an additional route. A short ride with sustained climbing may require more effort than a longer, flatter outing.

For your first sessions, choose a comfortable pace and leave the harder optional routes until you know how your legs respond. Finishing with enough energy to look forward to the next ride is a sensible starting point.

What Rewards Can You Earn?

Rewards include virtual clothing, equipment, Coins and XP. Each completed stage earns a standard reward, while yearly subscribers receive upgraded rewards too. Switching to a yearly subscription during the challenge also unlocks upgraded rewards for previously completed stages.

Treat those rewards as a little extra motivation. The more useful achievement is building a riding routine that fits around work, family and the shorter winter days.

Is Great World Adventure Worth Trying?

For cyclists who enjoy exploring new places, ROUVY Great World Adventure gives indoor riding a clear purpose. Pick a regular slot, prepare your equipment and work through the adventure at a pace you can maintain.
