Muc-Off Bicycle Chain Care Kit: Now £21 with AFF30

Keeping your chain clean and lubricated is one of those small jobs that is easy to postpone, especially after a wet autumn ride. The Muc-Off Bicycle Chain Care Kit brings three maintenance essentials together, giving you a straightforward starting point for looking after your drivetrain.

The kit costs £30, but our tested promo code AFF30 takes 30% off, bringing the price down to £21 before delivery, a saving of £9.

What’s included in the Muc-Off Bicycle Chain Care Kit?

You get three products covering cleaning, scrubbing and lubrication:

• Bio Drivetrain Cleaner, 500ml, for tackling grease and grime on the chain and drivetrain.

• Bicycle Chain Brush, with a shaped head designed to scrub three sides of the chain at once.

• All Weather Lube, 120ml, a synthetic lubricant designed for riding in changeable conditions.

There is no chain-cleaning machine included, so this is a brush-based kit rather than an enclosed cleaning system. You will also want a cloth for drying and wiping away excess lubricant.

Save 30% with AFF30: Get the Muc-Off Bicycle Chain Care Kit for £21, reduced from £30 using our tested code. The offer expires 31 October 2026. Delivery charges may apply, so check the final checkout total.

Who is this kit best suited to?

For someone starting to maintain their own bike, buying a cleaner, brush and lubricant together removes a little of the guesswork. It is also a practical option if your existing cleaning supplies are running low.

The all-weather approach makes particular sense for commuters and leisure cyclists who keep riding when the forecast looks unsettled. Muc-Off describes the included lubricant as water-repellent and formulated to help protect against corrosion and wear. Those are manufacturer claims, rather than results from our own testing.

Already have a decent brush and a favourite lubricant? Buying only the cleaner you need could be better value than duplicating supplies.

Muc-Off Chain Care Kit vs Dark Energy Chain Wax

The main difference is the maintenance routine you want to follow.

The Bicycle Chain Care Kit combines cleaning tools with conventional all-weather lubrication. Dark Energy Chain Wax is a separate drip-on wax product, requiring a thoroughly cleaned, dry drivetrain before application. Muc-Off specifies at least 12 hours of drying time, ideally 24 hours in cooler conditions, and says it is intended for dry to damp riding.

For regular autumn commuting in unpredictable weather, I would lean towards the Chain Care Kit as the more straightforward starting point. Dark Energy is worth considering if you specifically want to adopt a wax routine and can plan application ahead of your rides.

If you already run a waxed chain, choose maintenance products that suit that system rather than automatically adding the kit’s All Weather Lube.

Is it worth buying for £21?

At £21 before delivery, this looks like a useful starter bundle, particularly if you need all three items. Its appeal is convenience: you get the basics for a regular cleaning routine in one purchase.

It is less compelling if your cupboard is already stocked, and the discounted price should always be compared with alternatives including postage.
