The new Maxxis Forekaster is the ultimate downcountry tyre, blurring the lines between the super fast-rolling Rekon and the more aggressive Dissector. Perfect for the latest crop of lightweight 120-130mm travel downcountry and trail bikes, the Forekaster is an awesome all-rounder.New tread pattern with re-arranged centre blocks and more consistent side knobs for improved grip and confidenceSide knobs are also taller for even more gripRaised ridges on casing improve mud-clearingThe Forekaster fits in the middle ground between Maxxis s fast-rolling XC-focussed rubber (The Aspen, Ikon, Rekon Race and Rekon) and their grippier gravity tyres that emphasise grip and traction (the Dissector, Minion DHF/DHR II and Assegai). It features a widely space centre tread similar to the original Forekaster, but the arrangement has been tweaked for improved rolling efficiency without giving up driving and braking traction. The sideknobs have also been altered, with a more continuous arrangement of taller knobs to offer superb cornering grip. Offering a throwback to it s mud-shedding XC race origins, the new Forekaster also features raised ridges on the casing to improve mud-clearing, just like the new Shorty.
