The Maxxis Minion DHX Downhill TR Tyre is a race-focused gravity tyre built for greater support, control and grip. Its NEW DH casing improves compliance over rocks and roots. It also adds firm support during hard cornering and heavy impacts. An updated tread layout helps the tyre remain stable when braking, turning and riding rough ground.Key Features and Benefits:NEW DH casing: The new casing uses progressive stiffness to balance grip with support. The lower section can flex over rocks and roots, while the sidewalls remain firm under load. This helps the tyre track rough ground without folding during hard turns or damaging the rim during impacts.Lower pressure support: The NEW DH casing can run around 2-3 PSI lower than the previous Maxxis DH casing. Lower pressure lets more tread stay in contact with the ground. This improves traction and creates a slower, more controlled rebound over rough sections.Dual-ply 120 TPI construction: Two 120 TPI casing layers provide added strength and puncture protection. The fine threads also allow the casing to respond to small bumps. This gives the tyre a controlled feel without adding excess stiffness or weight.MaxxTerra Compound: MaxxTerra rubber offers a balance of grip, speed and wear for mixed trail conditions. The softer 3C MaxxGrip compound provides slow rebound and increased traction on wet or loose ground. This lets you select the grip level that best suits your riding conditions.Updated tread layout: Maxxis revised the tread with feedback from its downhill athletes. The layout is designed to improve braking control, cornering support and tread stability. This helps the tyre remain predictable when high loads pass through the bike.Tubeless-ready front and rear design: The tyre can be installed without an inner tube when used with a compatible wheel, valve and sealant. This supports lower pressures, reduces rolling resistance and removes the risk of tube pinch flats. Front and rear compatibility also allows a balanced setup across both wheels.Predictable control is vital when the bike is placed under heavy braking and cornering loads. The Minion DHX maintains its shape as pressure moves through the tyre. This gives the tread a stable base from which to grip. Its compliant casing also reduces harsh feedback from rocks, roots and repeated impacts.Choose the Maxxis Minion DHX Downhill TR Tyre for a gravity setup that needs firm support without losing ground contact. Select the compound that suits your local conditions and build a front, rear or matched tyre setup for demanding trail, enduro and downhill use.
