This is a very tough cycling route because of the distance and the total ascent. It starts and ends in the tourist resort of Golf del Sur and covers a total distance of 168kms, all along the south and west of Tenerife. You will start climbing straight away from Golf del Sur all the way up Mount Teide riding through San Isidro, Granadilla de Abona, Vilaflor before you reach El Retamar, Boca Tauce and the El Teide peak. Stay on TF-21 and pass the Cable Car station, Montana Blanca and Portillo Alto before you turn right on to TF-24 towards the Observatorio del Teide. After about 70kms you will start descending towards Guimar. The next 50 or so kms to your final destination El Medano the route is relatively flat with slight undulations. On your way, you will pass the small villages of El Escorbonal, Fasnia, Icor and Villa de Arico. Then take the TF-636 to San Isidro and head back to Golf del Sur.
