Mirador del Rio from Maquez

This climb to Mirador del Rio is the most popular one and the views when you're approaching the pick are phenomenal. The climb starts on the outskirts of Maquez on the LZ-201 heading north. Just before you hit the village of Ye turn left on to LZ-202 for the last 2.5kms (approx). At the first part of your climb on the LZ-201, you'll climb Monte Corona for about 3kms with an average gradient of 5% but getting steeper towards the end. After this climb you will descent towards the village of Ye before turning left for the second climb towards Mirador Del Rio. Just before the summit there are a couple of points where you can take some picture without having to pay an admission fee to enter Mirador del Rio. This segment is part of the IRONMAN Lanzarote route.
