The Zwift Ride V2 has arrived with an important collection of upgrades designed to make the indoor smart bike more comfortable, adjustable and suitable for sharing between different riders.
Available in the UK as a Zwift Ride Smart Frame or as a complete package with the Wahoo KICKR CORE 2, the second-generation Ride addresses one of the most frequently discussed limitations of the original model, its fixed crank length.
The updated Zwift Ride with KICKR CORE 2 remains priced at £1,099.99, making it an attractive alternative to considerably more expensive dedicated smart bikes. The smart frame is also available separately for riders who already own a compatible trainer.

This is a substantial improvement over the original Ride’s fixed cranks. Crank length can influence pedalling comfort, hip movement and riding position, so having five options makes it easier to recreate the feel of your outdoor bike. It is especially useful in households where several cyclists want to use the same indoor setup.
Zwift has also made the frame more compact, with a recommended rider height range of approximately 4ft 10in to 6ft 6in. A redesigned seatpost provides increased fore-and-aft adjustment, including the option of moving the saddle further forwards. Updated handlebars also have larger-diameter tops for improved comfort.
The original Zwift Ride Smart Frame was already easy to adjust, but its fixed crank length meant it could not fully reproduce every rider’s normal cycling position.
The new design feels much closer to a genuine multi-user smart bike. Saddle height, saddle position, handlebar height, reach and crank length can all be adjusted to suit the rider. That makes it easier for couples or families to share one indoor bike without repeatedly swapping a road bike on and off a turbo trainer.
Shorter crank settings may also appeal to smaller riders or cyclists who prefer additional clearance at the top of the pedal stroke. Taller riders can select one of the longer settings to create a position closer to their regular outdoor bike.
The Zwift Ride V2 is particularly well suited to cyclists who train indoors regularly and want a permanently assembled setup. There is no need to use your best road bike, remove the rear wheel or worry about covering the drivetrain in sweat.

The Ride is primarily designed around the Zwift experience, although it can also be used with ROUVY when paired with a compatible trainer. This gives buyers more freedom than the original Zwift-only proposition suggested.
The standalone Zwift Ride Smart Frame costs £749.99 in the UK. It is the logical choice if you already have a suitable smart trainer and want to convert it into an always-ready indoor bike.
The complete Zwift Ride with KICKR CORE 2 costs £1,099.99. This package supplies the smart frame and trainer together, giving new indoor cyclists almost everything required to start riding. You will still need a suitable screen or device and a Zwift subscription.
Trainer compatibility should be checked carefully before buying the frame on its own. Zwift states that the Garmin Tacx NEO 2, NEO 2 SE and NEO 3M are not compatible with the Ride.
Owners of the original Ride do not need to replace the complete frame. Zwift says the new adjustable crank arms and an updated saddle clamp will be available separately as upgrade accessories.
This is good news for early adopters, particularly anyone who likes the original setup but wants a shorter crank length or greater saddle adjustment. The updated handlebars, however, are not currently offered as a separate upgrade.
Zwift has also announced several software improvements for the 2026 indoor-training season. Watt Lock is expected to arrive in October, allowing cyclists to select and maintain a target power during free rides. Riders using Zwift Ride, Zwift Click or Zwift Play controllers will be able to adjust that target while riding.
The Zwift game home screen and Companion app are also being refreshed, while a new WHOOP connection can use recovery information to influence training recommendations.
The Zwift Ride V2 is not a complete reinvention, but it fixes the most obvious fit compromises of the original. Adjustable cranks, increased saddle movement and support for a wider range of rider heights make it more comfortable and far easier to share.
At £1,099.99 with the KICKR CORE 2, it provides much of the convenience of a premium smart bike without entering the considerably higher price bracket occupied by many all-in-one systems.
If you already have a compatible trainer, the standalone frame may be the better-value route. If you are starting from scratch and want a neat indoor setup that can remain ready throughout the British winter, the complete KICKR CORE 2 package is likely to be the most straightforward choice.
