The Fizik Ergolace 2 Flat Shoes are versatile off-road shoes built for trail, gravel, bikepacking and everyday riding. The revised X2 Flat outsole uses grippy Vibram XS Ride rubber and a new tread pattern to improve contact with flat pedals. A wider forefoot gives your toes more room, while the light ripstop upper dries fast and helps reduce bulk. The Speedlace closure also keeps the foot secure without getting in the way of the drivetrain.Key Features and Benefits:Revised X2 Flat outsole: The updated outsole uses Vibram XS Ride rubber with a zoned tread pattern for secure contact with flat pedals. Lower, regular-shaped lugs through the mid-foot allow pedal pins to sit deeper within the outsole grooves. This helps keep the shoe planted on the pedal when riding over rough or uneven ground.Aggressive heel and toe tread: Taller and wider lugs are placed beneath the heel and toes where pedal contact is not required. These areas bite into loose ground when walking, pushing or carrying the bike. This gives you better traction during hike-a-bike sections and technical off-bike sections.Wider anatomical fit: The updated shape gives more room around the metatarsal area and toe box while retaining a secure fit around the foot. Your toes have more space to move and spread during long rides. This can reduce pressure and improve comfort when riding or walking for extended periods.Lightweight ripstop upper: The upper uses breathable ripstop fabric with less excess material to reduce bulk and help moisture escape. Large PU-laminated sections add durability, while extra reinforcement around the toe helps protect against rocks and roots. The construction also dries quickly after wet rides.Perforated Airprene bootie construction: The foot-wrapping inner replaces a traditional layered tongue with soft, perforated Airprene material. Fewer overlapping sections help spread pressure more evenly across the foot. The perforations also improve airflow and allow moisture vapour to escape for better comfort in warm or wet conditions.Ergonomic Speedlace closure: The asymmetric lace layout follows the shape of the foot and keeps the closure away from the drivetrain. The Speedlace system can be tightened or released quickly while maintaining a secure hold around the foot. This keeps the shoe stable during rough riding while making fit adjustments simple. The Ergolace 2 Flat is designed for riders who need one shoe for both riding and time spent off the bike. Its outsole stiffness rating of 4 gives enough support for efficient pedalling without making the shoe too rigid for walking. At 744g per pair in size 42, it also keeps weight under control for long trail rides and bikepacking trips. Sizes run from 36 to 48, making it suitable for a wide range of riders. For trail riding, gravel routes, commuting and multi-day trips, the Fizik Ergolace 2 Flat Shoes offer a practical mix of pedal grip, walking traction and lasting comfort. The revised outsole, roomier fit and fast-drying construction make them a strong choice when your rides include more than smooth roads.
