Ridley decided to focus on keeping the retail price down during the development of the Fenix Disc while maintaining the stiffness and ride comfort of the Elite level Fenix SLiC, using other components and a different carbon fiber technology. Due to this modified carbon lay-up, the Fenix Disc frame is only 120 grams heavier than the Fenix SLiC frame.
