Shimano Deore XT RD-M8200 12-Speed GS Medium Cage Rear Derailleur Built for a modern 12-speed mountain bike drivetrain, this mechanical rear derailleur combines a low-profile Shadow ES layout with direct cable routing. The compact shape improves trail clearance and reduces exposure to impacts and snagging. Shadow ES uses a dual-spring stabilising mechanism to control cage movement and maintain firmer chain engagement over rough ground. Reduced chain bounce supports quieter running, more consistent shifting and dependable retention through technical terrain. The optimised slant angle and strong return spring help the derailleur track the cassette accurately. Cold-forged alloy links and coated pivot bushings are designed to withstand repeated shifting loads while retaining a positive lever feel. The GS Medium Cage cage is matched to a maximum sprocket of 45T and a total capacity of 35T. Correct cassette, chain and shifter selection are required for the derailleur to operate across the intended range. Features Shadow ES low-profile architecture improves impact clearance on rough trails. Dual-spring chain stabilisation reduces chain bounce and supports secure engagement. Direct cable routing reduces exposure to trail-side snagging. Cold-forged alloy links and pivot body provide strength under repeated shifting loads. Coated link-pin bushings support smooth movement and long-term durability. Solid pulleys help restrict debris entry in muddy conditions. GS Medium Cage cage supports the specified 9-45T cassette range. Maximum low sprocket of 45T is matched to the stated drivetrain.
