Quick Guide to Kids Helmets

When it comes to cycling safety, Kids Helmets, also called Junior Helmets, aren’t optional. They're essential for protecting young riders whether they’re on a balance bike, school run, or trail ride. The good news? Today’s helmets are safer, lighter, and more comfortable than ever.

Do Kids Need to Wear a Helmet?

Yes, 100%. In the UK, it's strongly advised (and sometimes required) that children wear a helmet while cycling, scooting, or skating. Junior helmets help protect against head injuries, even during low-speed falls. The key is getting a helmet that fits properly and meets modern safety standards like MIPS.

Does Helmet Quality Matter?

Absolutely. Not all kids helmets are made equal. High-quality helmets use better materials, offer more adjustability, and often include MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System), which helps reduce rotational force during impact. It’s worth investing in a helmet that provides real protection—not just tick-box safety.
