Save £255 on a Kids Bike Built for Off-Road Adventures

Looking for a children’s bike that encourages adventures beyond the pavement? The DMR Sidekick Ride 20-inch kids bike is advertised at £375 at Tredz, against a listed RRP of £630. That’s a £255 saving, approximately 40%, with the black version listed as in stock when checked.

You can find the offer through our DMR Sidekick Ride deal page. There’s also a £389 option at Tweeks Cycles, giving parents another retailer to compare before ordering.

What Makes the DMR Sidekick Ride Worth Considering?

The DMR Sidekick Ride is designed for young cyclists developing their off-road skills. Its aluminium frame and rigid aluminium fork are paired with 20-inch wheels, chunky Vee Crown Gem 2.25-inch tyres and a low frame that makes getting on and off easier.

DMR has also paid attention to the smaller details that matter to children. Short cranks, smaller pedals, slim grips and child-sized controls help make the bike more manageable. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes provide braking at both wheels, with levers designed for smaller hands. The published bike weight is 9.4kg.

Who Is This Bike For?

This looks particularly appealing for a confident young rider who enjoys pump tracks, local trails and practising riding while standing on the pedals. Its single-speed drivetrain keeps operation straightforward, with no gears to change. However, that simplicity is a trade-off if your family rides involve plenty of steep climbs, where a geared bike may be more practical.

Before buying, check your child’s height, inside leg measurement and reach against the bike’s sizing information. Wheel size alone won’t tell you whether a bike fits comfortably.

For parents planning a Christmas bike purchase, the Sidekick Ride is worth a look if its fit and off-road focus suit their child. You can also explore more options on our 20-inch kids bikes page, or visit our 16-inch kids bikes guide if a smaller bike would be more suitable.
