A substantial saving for riders planning an electronic shifting upgrade
Tredz has reduced the Shimano Ultegra 12-speed disc brake Di2 groupset to £1,199.99. Against the retailer’s listed RRP of £2,296.87, that is a saving of £1,096.88, approximately 48%.
For riders happy with their existing road bike, this could be an opportunity to refresh its drivetrain and move to electronic shifting. However, the final cost depends on compatibility and fitting.
What is included?
The advertised option pairs a 50/34 chainset with 172.5mm cranks and an 11–34 cassette. Tredz also lists Di2 front and rear derailleurs, hydraulic shift/brake controls and callipers, a chain, battery, wiring, charging cable and 140mm and 160mm Centre Lock rotors.
Check the exact specification with Tredz before ordering, particularly if you need a different crank length or rotor arrangement. A power meter is not listed.
Check your bike before upgrading
This is a disc brake groupset, so it is unsuitable for a straightforward upgrade to a rim brake frame. Ask your mechanic to check frame and fork compatibility, internal battery mounting, wiring routes, bottom bracket requirements, wheel freehub compatibility and rotor mounts. If you are new to electronic shifting, our Shimano Di2 guide is a useful starting point before planning your upgrade.
Also budget for labour and any additional parts. A discounted groupset can become a considerably bigger project once installation and compatibility changes are included.
Upgrade your current bike or buy a complete Di2 bike?
Upgrading makes most sense when your current frame fits well, is in good condition and has wheels you want to keep. If several other parts also need replacing, compare the full fitted upgrade cost with the net cost of a complete bike after selling your existing one.

Browse our bikes with Shimano Ultegra to explore alternatives, checking each model’s specification to confirm whether it uses Di2 electronic shifting.
