The flip-flop rear hub offers gearing versatility. Built for clincher tires, they provide exceptional power transfer and durability for racing and city riding. MAVIC Ellipse II Track Wheelset: Unrivaled Performance for Track and StreetBuilt for the track, ready for the streets, these 30mm aero aluminum wheels deliver speed and strength for fixed/track bikes. The MAVIC Ellipse II Track wheel set is the benchmark for performance and reliability in the velodrome and has become a favourite among discerning urban cyclists and messengers. Engineered for pure speed and explosive acceleration, this wheelset provides the competitive edge needed to shave seconds off your lap times and the robust durability required to conquer the demanding urban landscape.Aerodynamic Efficiency Meets Raw PowerExperience a tangible reduction in drag thanks to the 30mm deep, low profile aero rim design. This optimized shape slices through the air with minimal resistance, allowing you to maintain higher speeds with less effort, whether you´re in a full sprint on the track or cruising through city avenues. The aerodynamic advantage is further enhanced by ultra-bladed straight-pull spokes, which cut down on rotational drag and contribute to the wheelset´s incredible stiffness. This rigidity translates into immediate power transfer, every watt you produce is channeled directly into forward motion, providing the snappy, responsive feel crucial for high-stakes racing and nimble city navigation.Engineered for Stiffness and LongevityThe foundation of the Ellipse II´s exceptional performance lies in its high-flange hubs, both front and rear. This design creates a wider bracing angle for the spokes, significantly increasing lateral stiffness for unmatched stability during sprints and aggressive cornering. Inside these hubs, high-quality adjustable cartridge bearings (QRM+) ensure supremely smooth rolling efficiency and long-lasting durability with minimal maintenance. The rear hub features a versatile double-threaded, or ´flip-flop´, design, allowing for the easy installation of two different cog sizes to quickly adapt your gearing to different tracks or riding conditions. The rim´s strength is fortified by Mavic´s unique arc-welded seam (SUP), creating a solid and balanced joint that enhances wheel stability and braking performance for those using a front rim brake.Key Features:* 30mm deep aerodynamic rim profile for reduced drag and enhanced speed.* Low spoke count with ultra-bladed spokes for superior aerodynamic performance.* High-flange front and rear hubs for maximum power transfer and lateral stiffness.* Flip-flop rear hub allows for mounting two different fixed cogs.* High-quality, smooth-running adjustable cartridge bearings (QRM+).* Strong and secure arc-welded rim joint for improved strength and balance.* Designed as a clincher wheelset for practical tyre choice and easy maintenance.Technical Specifications:* Wheel Size: 28´´- 700c* Material: High-Strength Aluminum* Tyre Compatibility: Clincher* Wheel Configuration: Front and rear set* Rim Profile: Low profile < 30 mm (30mm)* Brake Type: Rim Brake compatible (machined front braking surface)* Primary Discipline: Track, Fixed Gear, Criterium, Road Cycling. tradeinn Bikeinn
