Reserve 48|53 GR DT 180 Gravel Wheelset Designed for riders who refuse to compromise between speed and rugged stability, the Reserve 48|53 GR DT 180 Gravel Wheelset sets a new benchmark for off-road aerodynamic performance. Engineered around Turbulent Aero technology, this ultralight 1433g wheelset pairs a 48mm front rim depth to eliminate crosswind instability with a deeper 53mm rear rim to maximize drag reduction. Paired with top-tier DT Swiss 180 hubs and carbon spokes, the ultra-wide 44mm external profile creates a seamless boundary layer over modern gravel tyres. This drastically reduces turbulence and yields unmatched momentum on flat-out race courses, giving competitive cyclists an undeniable edge when every watt counts. Traction and Cornering Confidence A massive 30mm internal rim width provides the ultimate foundation for wide gravel rubber ranging from 40mm to 57mm. By allowing tyres to expand naturally into a wider, squared-off profile, this design eliminates the tire lightbulbing effect where sidewalls taper inward dangerously. The result is a significantly larger contact patch that maximizes cornering grip, dampens rough vibration, and ensures predictable, razor-sharp handling through loose gravel and high-speed descents. Coupled with an asymmetric rear offset that balances spoke tension, the 48|53 GR translates every ounce of pedalling effort directly into forward motion. Hollow Hook Strength and Reliability Built to endure punishing terrain without adding unnecessary bulk, the innovative hollow-hook carbon construction removes excess internal rim material while reinforcing critical wear zones. This precise manufacturing technique yields a surprisingly robust rim weight while delivering exceptional pinch-flat protection to keep you rolling through harsh rock strikes. Built on dependable centerlock disc mounts and adaptable freehub bodies, these wheels are an investment in long-term performance. Complete with a manufacturer lifetime warranty, this wheelset is the definitive upgrade for gravel cyclists seeking maximum velocity, durability, and total peace of mind.
